Three Quotes, Three Days Challenge: Day Two

Hello everyone!

I have been enjoying the three days, three quotes challenge so far! I have especially loved reading posts from other bloggers who have participated in this challenge.

The quote I have selected for day two is….

“Sometimes the best thing you can do is not think, not wonder, not imagine, not obsess. Just breathe, and have faith that everything will work out for the best.” -Unknown

I am someone who is guilty of over-thinking and worrying ALL. THE. TIME. Sometimes I feel as though worries and fear have consume my thoughts and as a result, my mind decides to shut down and all I can think about is the issue that is causing me to worry. My mind likes to obsess over things when I feel distressed and it can get out of hand from time to time.

Over-thinking, in my experience, has killed my joy and has made me feel just outright crazy sometimes. The littlest, most innocent of things can send my mind racing to all of the negative possibilities without considering context and logic. It’s not healthy or productive. It’s a horrible cycle and for anyone else who experiences this, I’m sure you would agree with me.

My husband has seen me at my absolute worst for anxiety. He has always helped me through those times. He reminds me each day to try to let go of my negative thoughts and go about my day. He tells me to give my worries over to God and move forward and I have found that it really helps. I am getting better at taking a breath, saying a prayer, and being comforted by knowing that everything is in God’s hands.

I am still learning to stop thinking so much, to let go and give my worries over to God at all times. I hope that over time, I can think positively and let things go easily, especially when there is no real cause to obsess and worry.

It is a bit of a process to get yourself to stop over-thinking, but it is so important for your productivity, your relationships, your health, and your happiness. I hope that if you struggle with overthinking that you find a way to overcome it.

I hope you all enjoyed day two of this challenge! Today I would like to nominate…

Another great post. I can also relate to this post. Yesterday I did the same thing. I overthought about one small thing. I came up with a whole scenario in my head (not a good one) because I was worried about something. I felt the anxiety come on and I thought to myself… What are you doing? Why did your mind even go there? You have never had a reason to even think something like that would happen… I literally had to talk myself out of it. Well I guess I talked to God about it, out loud, and gave my worry away. 🙂
