So, I thought that this got posted Sunday evening, but apparently I was completely wrong. I then realized that I had accidentally scheduled this post to go up today at 9:45 pm instead of Sunday night like I had intended….oops!
Anyway, for this week’s bible study, I wanted to talk about trusting God’s timing and having faith that He will answer your prayers. I have mentioned this a few times in other posts and I thought it would be a good idea to talk about it a little bit more.
I can be a very impatient person sometimes, which is something that I’m trying to work on. I get impatient in a variety of situations (many of them are things as simple as being stuck in traffic or waiting for something to come in the mail) and I have to take a step back and remind myself to be patient. With impatience comes stress, as I often feel that everything has to be done or achieved all at once when in reality, that is never the case, nor is it always possible. Everything comes with time and it’s important to remember that. This is especially important in prayer and growing a relationship with Christ.
I came across this quote when I was scrolling through Pinterest and it reminded me to be patient and to trust that God is working in my life and making things happen.
“God is making things happen for you. Even when you don’t see it, even when you can’t feel it, even if it’s not evident…God is working on your prayers.”
My grandmother always talks to me about being patient and trusting God’s timing with our lives. She reminds me that He places us in the right situations with the right people at exactly the right times. He is constantly working in our lives, in subtle and sometimes big ways, even if we don’t always notice.
This quote reminded me of a few bible verses that emphasize the importance of putting faith in God’s timing and following the path He has laid out for us.
“‘For I know the plans I have for you’, declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and future.'” -Jeremiah 29:11
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.” -Ecclesiastes 3:1
“Don’t mistake God’s patience for his absence! His timing is perfect and His presence is constant. He is always with you.” -Deuteronomy 3:16
I believe that each of these verses are so important to study and remember! We must learn to be patient with God and to trust in the plans He has for us. God never leaves your side and he is answering your prayers in the timing He believes is best for you. It just takes a little faith and patience to be at peace with the process. By continuing to work towards your goals and continuing to pray, and by trusting that God will answer your prayers, you will be able to be at peace with the journey you have ahead of you. When you feel impatient or stressed out, or worried about the future, I encourage you to take a breath, pray, and have faith that God will be with you through the process. He will answer your prayers at exactly the right moment.
I hope you all enjoyed this (extremely late) bible study post! I’d love to hear your thoughts about trusting in God’s timing and learning to be patient, or any other bible studies that you want to share!
I hope you all have a wonderful night!
